START • It is 1913 when Paolo Albini established Paolo Albini Costruzioni, right at the start of a period of wide housing development that lasted for a few decades in Varese. In 1937 his sons Carlo and Giuseppe took over the business; the company, besides housing, added other sectors of intervention and significantly expanded its set of skills.
FIRST ACHIEVEMENTS • In 1961 Paolo Albini Costruzioni passed to Giancarlo Albini and Francesco Castelli. Therefore, the company changed name in Impresa di costruzioni Albini e Castelli, and to a fast growing became quickly one of the construction leading company in Province of Varese. It managed the construction of residential building, factories and schools. Later it also became a well-known company for restoration due to the realization of projects that have been internationally recognized: Eremo of Santa Caterina del Sasso (Maggiore Lake) and Basilica of San Vittore (in downtown Varese).
GROWTH • In 1987, with the entrance of Alberto Castelli, supported by the technical direction of Raimondo Gandolla, the company achieved a new growth period. The areas of interventions widened from the Province of Varese to the Central-Northern part of Italy. Over the years the company increase the level of complexity and diversification of projects: shopping centers, hotels, residential and office buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, logistics centers.
INTERNATIONALIZATION • Recently the company has also focused its attention on specific foreign markets. So far has create Branches and started a targeted promotional action. In 2018 Albini e Castelli won a tender for building a hospital in Albania.
NEW CHALLENGES • Nowadays, the company is run by Alberto and Giorgio Castelli. Firmly engaged in all sectors of the construction field, it continues to be organized and interested in seizing all the challenges and opportunities offered by the market.
Multidisciplinary expertise, technical skills and a structured organization give the company the necessary tools to deal with an even wider range of activities and a more varied and growing complexities than in the past: multi-level underground car parking with peripheral reinforcement in areas with a high urban settlement; renovations of important historical buildings subject to heavy architectural restrictions; top-down structures, piling and micro-piling systems; industrialized residential modules characterized by planning with fixed parts and variable parts; anti-seismic adjustments of complex structures with solutions in continuity of operation…
Without forgetting the research for original models of intervention with innovative methods and solutions both in terms of redesign and implementation in a unified vision of structural, architectural, constructive and plant engineering components.
